Can Walmart put a new tire on? ›

Walmart's certified auto care technicians perform basic auto maintenance services to keep your car rolling. Some services include tire installation, battery testing and installation, oil and lube services and more. Simply drop your car off at the Auto Care Center and technicians get to work while you shop.

Any automotive garage, including Walmart, will have tire gauges and air at easy access for them as they use it all the time. They may or may not charge you for this service.

Unworn Condition: To be eligible for a return, the tires must be in an unworn condition. This means they should not have been driven on. Walmart is meticulous about safety and can't accept tires that may have been damaged on the road. Return in Original Condition: The tires must be returned in their original condition.

If you need to have tires installed that you bought somewhere else, you can still get the same basic installation for an additional $11 per tire. That brings the total to $116 for four tires. And Walmart's “basic installation” includes more than just installing the new tires.

On average, people drive between 12,000 to 15,000 miles a year, which means the average good quality all-season tire will last somewhere between three and five years, depending on maintenance, driving style and conditions, etc.

How Much Does it Cost to Mount and Balance Tires? On average, expect to spend $15 to $60 to mount and balance each tire. The lower end tends to be for smaller tires—typically on cars—and steel wheels. On the higher end, you are looking at larger wheels or low-profile tires, which are harder to work on.

You should rotate your tires approximately every 6,000 to 8,000 miles (about 9,600 to 13,000 km). For some of you, this is the same time as your car's service. The right time may also be when changing from winter to summer tires. Or simply when you buy new tires.

Walmart auto centers also offer check and fill services for: Transmission fluid. Washer fluid. Power steering fluid.

We will mount and balance tires not purchased through Discount Tire for a charge per tire that depends on your store's region. The purchase of a tire mounting and balancing service from us includes a lifetime service so you can bring your vehicle back for rebalancing.

You should drive no more than 50 miles on a temporary or donut spare tire if possible. If you absolutely must go longer than 50 miles, avoid driving on it longer than 70 miles. A spare tire isn't meant to completely replace a tire, rather, its purpose is to tide you over until you can properly replace it.

Costco will not perform services on tires purchased by non-members. Costco will only install tires authorized for a specific vehicle. If you are unsure if your purchase is an authorized fitment, contact your local Costco tire center for assistance.
