Shes Like Heroin - Chapter 8 - Why_soup (2024)

Chapter Text

The air was thick with smoke, and the noise of slot machines drowned out all other sounds.

God. I hate casinos.

As I walked past the machines filled with people smoking and sitting on stools, eagerly waiting for their lucky break, I felt a flicker of recognition. I too was waiting for a significant win, but unlike the gamblers around me, I knew my moment had arrived. Fortunately, I knew it was today.

As I moved away from the slot machines and approached the poker tables, I saw him. The man I had traveled here to meet; his fingers deftly spun a game chip. He caught my eye from across the crowded room, his lips curling upwards in a smile. Whispering to the host beside him, he caught my eye and responded with a warm smile. I returned the gesture as I walked towards him.

"Good evening"

"Quackity" I inclined my head slightly, then took a stool as the host discreetly walked away, affording us privacy for our conversation.

Now, what do I think of him?

Well, for someone who's ranked in sixth place, he's not as intimidating as the rest. I've known him for a bit now and I haven't seen him do anything severely threatening. I'm only 2 places below him and I bet I've killed more people; I bet he won't even hurt a fly.

But there is something about him. I don't know what yet but. He's hiding a lot. People say he doesn't let anyone get to know him well. 'it can make him attached to others too much.'

He sure has a mind like a mob boss. But yet again he seems harmless.

"Drink?" he offered.

"No thank you" I looked at his pile of game chips he probably won at this table.

He seemed slightly surprised I declined the offer. "I thought all drug dealers had a drinking or a drug problem."

I stayed silent for a bit, thinking about how he said that. And how obnoxiously loud he was about it, like when not surrounded by people. So I just stared at him.

He took an inhale knowing what he said might have been out of pocket

"Let's not get off on a bad foot" he suggested "Let's take this conversation more private" he got up with a smile snapping at one of the bus boys to come to the table.

I got up not knowing if he was being genuine, and wanted to be safe about the conversation or take me to his office to help with the thing in his pants... I walked beside him.

We walked not saying anything to each other until we reached the elevator, with two guards posted on it.

The doors open as they let the Quackity through.

"Ladies first" he smiled. I didn't smile back this time; I walked into the elevator. He followed and the doors closed

"Why do you travel alone?" he asked looking at me

"Why do you travel alone?" I mirrored the question, as I was wondering the same "You are in rank six, I would feel you want yourself protected"

"I do have guards when it's necessary. But in my casino-"

"Predictable" I cut him off

"What?" he asked, seeming like it was an insult.

"that you own yet another building for profit" I looked at the number above the doors to see we were almost on our floor. "I lost track of how many facilities you own. Smart, yes. But to assume like no one's going to shoot up the place, and you're safe in your building." I looked back up at him with a cold look. "....Now that's foolish and ignorant." I looked at the door as they opened revealing a hallway.

I stepped one foot forward about to walk out of the elevator, when his arm blocked me as he pushed against the elevator wall making sure he blocked me. My eyes widened for a second as it was a scare. I looked up at his arm looking at all the wrinkles in his suit and trailing up his chest finally making eye contact.

"Is that a threat or a piece of mind?" He hissed as he leaned closer. I could feel his heavy breath, and see his eyes and brows scrunched. I looked over to the hallway to see two of his guards ready to attack on his word.

I smiled as I looked back at him "Free country, in-it " I giggled, as he was taking it so harshly. I pushed his arm out of the way taking another step "Don't get so hurt over my comment" I laughed. Stepping out of the elevator looking back at him " It's just a thought" I looked back at the hallway as his guards stepped out of the way so they could let me through.

He also stepped out of the elevator and once again we walked side-by-side down the long hallway. I looked at the walls to see the portraits. Some old guys that ran the place before he took over. I looked as he opened two doors leading to his office. I went in first as he closed the door behind me.

"You sure you don't want that drink?"

"Positive," I said as he sat down behind his desk and motioned for me to sit down in the chair across from him. There was this awkward silence as he studied my face for a few moments before speaking.

"OK, so" he started leaning back in his chair and looking at me up and down once more. "$500,000 for 25 hundred pounds," He said

My eyes slightly widened in shock. I look at the floor thinking about the new investment. "Quite a lot of money" I spoke looking back up at him.

He grinned "You want that amount, I gave you my price" he crossed his arms and leaned on his desk making the decision more pressure. But I need it if I am going to make any profit. "I'm a busy man and I don't have all-day princesses" he teased me.

"Where is it stored?" I asked

"In storage, with your name written all over it," he smiled

"Is it in one of your facilities?"

"No, some crappy one downtown." He leaned back in his seat, putting his feet on the desk.

"I'll have the money in one month" I replied. Knowing I most likely wasn't, I had a plan up my sleeve.

He grinned evilly as he stood up, and so did I.

"Wonderful" he took his feet off the table and stood up. I watched as he walked around his desk and stood in front of me leaning against his desk. One hand behind him pushed on the desk and the other, reached out for a handshake.

He was close.

I reached out my hand giving him a handshake, but I was startled by his sudden firm grip, tugging me slightly closer to him. He stepped closer leaning off his desk, his grin widening. His strength tightened on my hand, making my hand heat up, and turn red.

"I'll see you in one month" He leaned down to my ear as his breath ran down my neck and I could already sense his other hand moving closer to me. I already knew what he was trying to pull so I stepped aside, swiftly ripping my hand out of his. I stepped back as I felt my heart pumping out of my chest. His hands fell back to his side and his grin was short-lived as he rolled his eyes and leaned back on his desk.

"I'll see you in one month" I stayed professional. Turning around

"I'll have one of my guards escort you out," He said as I reached out, placing one hand on the handle ready to leave.

"One more thing," He said. I looked back at him as I cracked the door open "You look good in that dress” He winked with a 'charming smile'. I didn't. Occupy the comment and left the room as if it meant nothing to me. I closed the door and proceeded to walk down the hallway.

Pig

We've known each other for a bit and he decides to pull that. Should have known

I made my way to the elevator. Pressing the button, two of his guards watched me as I entered the elevator; crossing my arms as the doors shut.

"I'll see you in one month"

His words kept running through my head as they made me more and more disgusted by the second.

The elevator doors opened and one of his many guards stood waiting for me it seemed. I walked out and followed the man as he escorted me to the vehicle I arrived in. But as I walked out the man grabbed my arm, giving me a scare. I quickly turned around and looked at the man.

"Here Miss," He handed me a small piece of folded-up paper. I took it and swiftly pulled my arm out of his grasp as I walked towards my car. The man watched and waited at the door as I got into the back seat of my car.
"Everything goes well?" my driver asked as the car started and he started driving

"According to the plan..." I stopped to think for a second "Yes" I smiled. Opening the paper the man gave me, seeing the address written "There's the address" I passed the paper to the driver.

"Should I call the truck company?" he asked

"I'll call them, just worry about getting there." I looked out the window as we passed the casino I was just in. I smiled looking out the window. Picking up my phone from the seat next to me dialing the trucking company.

I wasn't going to pay him back

His ass doesn't even deserve it.

From that day, I picked it all up out of the storage unit and moved to a different city. I would have moved to a different state if he was more intimidating. But he would probably expect that.

Though for me it wasn't that great. I don't know what happened to me. I sold all of it and made a profit, but I didn't bother to find another lender. I was depleted, I lost all my power and dignity, as I fed my addiction. I let go of myself. I shopped at thrift stores having to sell all my nice clothes and bouncing from house to house not having the right home.

Until one day I ended up in a hotel lobby high out of my mind and being kidnapped into a van, where I was once again united with him.

He was more powerful than last time

My eyes snap open and I swiftly. I sit up from my bed as my heart is pounding and my breath is heavy. The room was cold yet I was sweating. I looked around seeing I was still trapped in this prison of a room.
I caught my breath realizing it was early and my shift didn't start till later that night. But I was too startled to go to sleep.

I noticed the craving

I itched my skin trying to get rid of the thought, But it felt like my skin was burning and my mind couldn't focus on one thing.

I need to find Niki.

I got up from my bed and threw on sweatpants and a hood, not caring what I wore. I wore out my shoes. Walking out of my room and making it to the hallway. I looked left and right seeing if she was anywhere, but I didn't see her.

I started walking down the hall to the elevator; itching and scratching my arms, not being able to control it. But right as I was about to press the elevator button, the doors opened. The doors came completely open and I stared at the person's shoes slowly looking up till I made eye contact. It was one of Quackity's

I noticed him from the first night, he's the one who gave me the ice back on the first day I arrived.

His eyes looked stale if that was even a way to put it. I traced his mask with its details and looked at the two horns attached to it. Schlatt? I think his name was.

"Just the person I was looking for" he spoke as his eyes slightly squinted, as I saw his eyes look at me up and down.

I took a step back wondering why he was looking for me. He took a couple of steps out of the elevator.

All of a sudden I felt his hand grab my arm firmly. Luckily he dragged me into the elevator in time before the doors closed.

The f*ck was he doing
